The third-generation Ford Expedition is Ford’s full-size SUV that was first introduced in 1997. After a redesign in 2003, the Expedition now has a new look for the 2007 model year with design cues inspired from the best-selling Ford F-Series pickup truck. Expedition earned the top frontal driver and passenger safety rating in NHTSA testing for the third consecutive year in 2003. Expedition sales reached 1 million in 2001.

The 2007 Ford Expedition is redesigned with an all-new look with design cues from the best-selling F-Series pickup truck featuring the prominent three-bar grille for the raised powerdome hood and new dual-beam headlights featuring Ford’s step-up design. The Expedition is built on an all-new chassis riding on a new independent front and rear suspension and powered by a 300-horsepower 5.4-liter Triton V8 engine that is mated to a new standard six-speed automatic transmission. The interior is fitted with redesigned seats for better comfort, an optional power-folding third-row seat, a new power liftgate, a new climate control system, a new DVD-based navigation system, and better insulation for a quieter ride. The Expedition is also offered in a new extended EL trim with a longer wheelbase and more cargo-carrying capacity.
